Mahaska County Pheasants Forever is dedicated to fostering the next generation of outdoorsmen and women! In 2010 the chapter won the prestigious "No Child Left Indoors" award at the 2010 National Pheasant Fest in Des Moines!

Local Shooting Sports Teams
Mahaska County has been fortunate through the years to partner with and support a great number of youth shooting teams including:
- Eddyville Youth Hunter Education Challenge Team
- North Mahaska Trap Team
- Oskaloosa High School Trap Team
- Pella Trap team
- Pella Christian Trap team
Youth Outdoor Day
The chapter partners with the Mahaska County Conservation Board and other local groups to host the Mahaska County Youth Outdoor Field Day. This event provides conservation and outdoor skills learning opportunities for hundreds of local children and their parents.

- Beekeeping
- Pollinator education
- Tree Identification
- Mammal Research
- Wilderness Survival
- Oskaloosa's K9 Units "Duke" Demonstration
- Retreiver demonstrations
